Our Causes

Rotary is dedicated to causes that build international relationships, improve lives, and create a better world to support our peace efforts and end polio forever.

Our Club is committed to serving our local community, and teaming up with other Rotary Clubs to serve our global and international community.

Supporting Education

More than 775 million people over the age of 15 are illiterate. Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase adult literacy.

Our Club supports education through promoting literacy, supporting reading programs, such as Read Across America and Reach Out and Read, scholarships, donating school supplies to all local area elementary schools, and providing all local area 3rd graders a dictionary for them to keep throughout their educational career.

Providing Clean Water

We support local solutions to bring clean water, sanitation, and hygiene to more people every day. We don’t just build wells and walk away. We share our expertise with community leaders and educators to make sure our projects succeed long-term.

Our Club provides clean water by participating in international missions, building water filtration systems in areas without access to clean drinking water, and training locals to sustain them, such as with our Ecuador Water Project. In addition, we supply our local Interact Club the materials they need to build hundreds of Water Pasteurization Indicators (WAPIs) each year. WAPIs are an affordable, reusable tool to help insure the safety of drinking water.

Ending Polio

Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years. Our goal of ridding the world of this disease is closer than ever.

Today, polio remains endemic only in Afghanistan and Pakistan. But it’s crucial to continue working to keep other countries polio-free. If all eradication efforts stopped today, within 10 years, polio could paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year.

Our Club is ending polio by raising money and contributing to Rotary End Polio missions and events, such as World Polio Day!

Fighting Disease

We educate and equip communities to stop the spread of life-threatening diseases like polio, HIV/AIDS, and malaria. We improve and expand access to low-cost and free health care in developing areas.

Our Club fights disease by supporting international Rotary missions and efforts to provide healthcare, testing, and vaccinations to those who need access most.

Promoting Peace

Rotary encourages conversations to foster understanding within and across cultures. We train adults and young leaders to prevent and mediate conflict and help refugees who have fled dangerous areas.

Our Club promotes peace by fostering relationships, participating in peace missions, and supporting refugees and survivors of conflict.

Disaster Response

Rotary supports three (3) phases of relief:

  1. Immediate response: Local Rotary Clubs and partners immediately offer helping hands and supplies.

  2. Short-term assistance: Rotary Clubs and Districts help affected communities wherever we can through funds and materials to re-establish day-to-day operations.

  3. Long-term rebuilding: Rotary Clubs plan and implement projects that rebuild affected communities.

Our Club responds to disasters by raising money and participating in boot-on-the-ground missions for local, regional, national, and international disaster relief projects.

Saving Mothers & Children

Nearly 6 million children under the age of five die each year because of malnutrition, poor health care, and inadequate sanitation. We expand access to quality care, so mothers and their children can live and grow stronger.

Our Club saves mothers and children by working with other Rotary Clubs to provide safe and stable living arrangements for women and children, local and abroad, such as our Ethiopia Widows’ Homes project, or our Sleep In Heavenly Peace project.

Growing Large Economies

We carry out service projects that enhance economic and community development and create opportunities for decent and productive work for young and old. We also strengthen local entrepreneurs and community leaders, particularly women, in impoverished communities.

Our Club is growing large economies by supporting international missions that help people become self-sufficient and create sustainable businesses.

Protecting The Environment

Rotary members are tackling environmental issues the way they always do: coming up with projects, using their connections to change policy and planning for the future.

Our Club is protecting the environment by organizing local community clean ups, maintaining planters, and partnering with other Rotary Clubs to collaborate on large-scale environmental clean ups and investment projects.
