International Projects
Ecuador Water Project
Our Club regularly partners with other local Rotary Clubs to travel to Ecuador to install water filtration systems to provide clean drinking water to those who need it most. These stations are designed to easily maintained so locals who receive these services can maintain them when we are no longer in the country, promoting self-sufficiency and teaching technical knowledge.
Guatemala Wheel Chairs
As part of a larger team, Lemoore Rotary traveled to Guatemala to donate and assemble wheel chairs for those in need. These wheel chairs are high-quality, easy-to-maintain, and size adjustable, to provide long-term use.
Widow’s Homes
Our Club is committed to saving women and children, with one of our staple projects being Widow’s Homes. We team up with other Rotary Clubs to fund safe homes for widows across the globe, such as Ethiopia and Mozambique.
Chile Firefighter Drones
In 2019, Our Club secured drones and traveled to help train Chilean firefighters on how to fly them. Loosing the battle with wild fires, they needed air surveillance. The drones donated and still in use today.
International Support
Wrap A Smile
Wrap A Smile is a national quilt program that provides quilts to children who receive medical treatment provided by Rotary sponsored organizations. Wrap a Smile provides quilts to both Rotaplast and Alliance for Smiles. Our members create quilts and collect quilts from other Rotary Clubs, as the west coast collection site lead, delivering quilts to both Rotaplast and Alliance For Smiles. Since 2019, Our Club has collected and delivered over 350+ Wrap A Smile quilts, with Lemoore Rotary providing the financial support and help with the delivery of these quilts.
Alliance For Smiles
Alliance for Smiles is an organization that provides cleft lip and cleft palate surgeries to under served children in the world. Our Club provides funding for children to this organization so children receive surgeries they need to live happy, healthy lives. Our Members have traveled all over the world to provide cleft palate surgeries (2014 China Mission Pictured).
Rotaplast
Rotaplast is an organization committed to helping children and families worldwide by eliminating the burden of cleft lip and/or palate, burn scarring, and other deformities. Working with Rotary, Rotaplast sends multidisciplinary medical teams to provide free reconstructive surgery, ancillary treatment, and training for the comprehensive care of these children. Rotaplast supports education and research towards prevention of cleft lip and/or palate.
Quilts Beyond Boarders
Quilts Beyond Boarders, is a national organization which gathers quilts from quilters across the country. Our Club members make quilts and quilt other people’s tops for this group. This organization is not Rotary affiliated, rather is provides quilts to projects as needed, including providing quilts for foster kits, refugees, and the Navio Indian project. Lemoore Rotary provides financial support for materials, and to date, has donated 60+ quilts for this group.
